Open Call for Artists Round 62 January - March 2025

Since 2007 "PILOTENKUECHE" is an international art program based in Germany's new art capital Leipzig. The independent project is run by artists to support and empower artists.

The International Art Program invites 12 Artists from around the world for each round, to work together in our 465m² communally used studio space and realize one or exhibitions during their stay. The studio is located in a romantic, remodelled old barbed wire factory. With its exposed bricks large windows, high ceiling, and above all underfloor heating, this environment is inspiring. Our concept strives to create a communal space that can lead to experimental collaboration and discourse between participants, as well as with the greater Leipzig community.

Presentations will explore collage in theory, artist practice, the ecosystem of art, the state of photography, and the history of photography and collage. Artists will shoot on film, explore the dark room, and make collage with the results. Artists will also shoot digital images which will be printed as collage material.
