Cavendish Arts Science Fellowship

Applications are open for the Cavendish Arts Science Fellowship.

This unique collaborative opportunity is open to artists internationally and is not confined to any single aesthetic, theme or medium.

Artists with no previous experience of working with scientists or in a scientific environment are particularly encouraged to apply.

We are seeking adventurous artists who explore alternative ways of knowing the world, and who work with communities that are not privileged in the mainstream. The fellowship offers opportunities for playful experimentation, and the space to re-imagine beyond conventional artistic and scientific boundaries.

Mount Auburn Cemetery Artist-in-Residence

In 2014, Mount Auburn became the first cemetery in the United States to establish an artist residency program. Each year, the chosen artists are charged with creating an original, site-specific work inspired by an in-depth experience at the Cemetery that conveys a fresh and innovative perspective of Mount Auburn.

The grant must result in a deliverable product, program, or event that is unique to Mount Auburn Cemetery. All projects will be presented to the public (how and when projects are presented is to be determined by the artist and the AiR Program manager).

Submissions for the second Cavendish Arts Science Fellowship at Girton College are open!

Cavendish Arts Science creates collective encounters between art and science that explore the world, our humanity, and our place in the world. We create new artistic work that questions traditional centring of voices and ways of knowing and looks to re-imagine ways of exploring material and immaterial universes.

We are seeking adventurous artists who challenge traditional ways of knowing, engage with communities, and enjoy collectively imagining new possibilities. Artists with no previous experience working with scientists or in a scientific environment are particularly encouraged to apply.
