It is renewed in the spaces of the Sale dell'Arte of Villa Venino in the City of Novate Milanese, the exhibition Skyline now in its third edition, We have always wanted to present on the occasion of the exhibitions we curate, a selection of works capable of leading the observer on a road capable of offering broad reflections: a journey through the forms of art that over the centuries have built the thought and culture of seeing. Symbolic in this direction is the first presence in chronological-temporal order of a 17th-century canvas made by an unknown painter, a period copy of a famous painting by the great artist Paolo Veronese, with a curious history (Saint Sebastian before Diocletian). This was for us a tribute towards our past, our ancient history, a precious horizon for contemporary times. The theme of landscape and figures within space has always been a precious horizon that Skyline wanted to show, always in the dialogue across the centuries between the artists of yesterday and those of today. Several works are present here on the occasion of the exhibition curated by us from the ancient centuries: significant are the two small paintings from the 1700s representing figures with architectural ruins, created by Leonardo Coccorante, almost two "windows" on a lost time that in Italy, however, remains a still vital and contemporary landscape horizon. Natural and urban landscapes find testimonies capable of taking us on an exciting journey: the city of Venice opens up to us in light and color through a magical work painted by Moses Bianchi. Some masters of the Italian 20th century we can read and experience through works that do not leave us indifferent: this is the case here of a poetic view by Filippo De Pisis dedicated to Paris and a landscape with female figures (Le bagnanti) by the great master of Metaphysics, Giorgio De Chirico; by Angelo Del Bon, master of Chiarismo, we enjoy the suave lightness of a snowy landscape of great emotional charge. Europe is here told in the exhibition in its different geographies: north and south live together their different stories of yesterday and today. The painting dedicated to Brittany by Mario Castellani (he was illustrator of the Corriere dei Piccoli) does not go unnoticed, capable of becoming a precious synthesis in color, of the world of the French landscape, so much experienced by some masters of the 19th century. We wanted to create a small tribute towards three sensitive Italian artists who over time have felt and painted the theme of landscape in its existential horizon: Bruno Fanesi, Libero Ferretti and Giulio Scapaticci. The only sculpture featured in the exhibition is a ceramic created by Sandro Chia known artist of the Italian Transavanguardia created by art critic Achille Bonito Oliva. This is a sculpture that succinctly narrates the horizon of the human through stylized faces that live suspended in space. Skyline 3 collects testimonies of painting, sculpture, photography and video: the latter find significant works made by artists from Greece, China and Cyprus. It is a precious sign for us capable of telling the contemporary in its present horizon.
