TEXTURES

Textures shape our daily lives. Artists can create texture in several ways - not just by the
materials they choose, but by the way they see those materials. We perceive textures from the
moment of birth, wen each interaction is brining sensation. The pleasant breeze of air on a
warm autumn day, the gentle rustle of a stream, the burning but inviting prickliness of hot sand
on the beach, our every movement is met by texture. From the gruesome to the charming.
Oftentimes, we forget events, the specific details, the sights, the sounds, but the feelings still
remain for decades after creating everlasting memories in our minds. Present and lingering,
these memories caused by texture remind us of who we were, who we are, and who we will be;

NYC4PA CALL FOR ENTRY - BLACK AND WHITE

Photography, in its infancy, was entirely about black and white or monochrome images.  Color was an after print add on. NYC4PA, with this call, is once again focusing on one of our favorite themes - Black and White celebrating those images still so central to the field of photography despite the introduction of color film and the vast array of image capture and post process adjustment software.

Send us your monochrome images where all the emotion, texture and beauty are expressed in shades from white to dark. No matter if your original image was shot with tri x, a digital SLR, or your phone, if the end product is a terrific monochrome image (Black and White or Sepia), it fits the call.

As with all NYC4PA calls all 2D photo mediums are welcome.

Tale Trail Mural Project

Keller Public Arts is excited to share our latest endeavor, the "Tale Trail Mural Project." The Keller Arts Board is working in conjunction with the Keller Library and Parks Department to create an outdoor trail with encased reading platforms that will house a story for young readers to follow and enjoy. The story will be changed quarterly to entice recurring visits. The conceptual plan for the trail came to be as a means to memorialize a for Library Director and active Keller resident, Lisa Harper Wood who passed away from Cancer.

To participate in this Call, applicants must be Texas resident artists, and complete the application through CaFe A copy of the call can be downloaded from the Public Arts Website, www.cityofkeller.com/publicarts.

Tilt/Shift – Experiment as Normality
Even in our society’s fields of activity we previously believed to be safe, the contemporary crises prevalent worldwide are revealing to us a long-inconceivable collapse. Although no claim can be laid on a normal state of the world, the feeling of security is dwindling for an ever-growing number of people: habitual viewpoints are breaking away, certainties are shifting.
