Horizon: Contemporary Landscape

The Community Arts Center’ annual juried exhibit will test the limits of what you think of when you hear the word landscape! While many artists portray classic landscape paintings, others delve into more abstract realms, submitting everything from collage and photography to mixed media and cast metal sculpture. We want to see where your imagination takes you as an artist.

ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA
All artists using visual media are eligible to enter the Horizon exhibition. All media will be  considered with the exception of  live or performance art. All work must have been completed since January of 2012 and not previously shown in any  other Community Arts Center  exhibitions.

Intimacy with the Subject’ Photo Exhibition

Mount Dora Center for the Arts presents ‘Intimacy with the Subject’, a curated photographic exhibition, on display August 8, 2016 to September 23, 2016.

The visual narrative of the work submitted for review should evoke the feeling of intimacy and how you interpret intimacy. We are searching for images that go beyond the obvious to get at something deeper. Think beyond human subjects. Stretch your imagination.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists at all levels. Explore any interpretations that apply to the the me “Intimacy with the Subject” All works in the exhibition must be for sale with an artist-gallery split of 65%-35% of the purchase price.

Jerwood Drawing Prize 2016

Artists are invited to submit entries for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2016, the largest and longest running annual open exhibition for drawing in the UK. It has established a reputation for its commitment to championing excellence, and promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice within the UK. The Prize is welcoming entries from all UK based artists, from student to established, working with drawing. The 2016 selectors are Glenn Brown, artist; Stephanie Buck, Director of Kupferstich-Kabinett at Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden; and Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford. They will create an exhibition of up to 70 original works that explores and celebrates the diversity, excellence and range of current drawing practice in the UK.

Bridgeman Studio Award 2016

Enter the international Bridgeman Studio Award competition and you could win a £1,000 commission to design the front cover of award-winning author Rosie Garland’s next title, published by The Borough Press, an imprint of HarperCollins. Student entrants could also win a 4-week work placement at the HarperCollins office in London. To be in with a chance of this incredible prize, submit up to 5 artworks on the theme of 'NIGHT' by 30th June 2016. The competition is open to artists all over the world and at all levels, and we welcome a range of media.

Celeste Prize 2016

Celeste Prize is an international contemporary arts prize which every year awards rewarding benefits to emerging and mid-career artists. It's open to artists, photographers and creatives worldwide, without limits of age or experience. Works should contain an exciting and profound mix of contemporary perspectives and a creative use of artistic languages. 53 finalist works and projects will be chosen by a jury curators and critics, led by Ellen Blumenstein, director of KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin. Prizes (23,000 €) are awarded according to voting by the 53 finalist artists themselves at the final exhibition in London.
Please note - a 50 € fee is required to enter this competition. 

The Luxembourg Art Prize

The Luxembourg Art Prize aims to reveal and promote talented artists who have yet to establish a profile on the contemporary international scene. Its function is to discover artists, and it is open to any artist, amateur or professional, with no limits on age, nationality or place of residence. The Prize is aimed at artists working in one or more of the following media: drawing, printing, installation, painting, performance, photography, digital art, sculpture, sound art, video, mixed media.
Please note that entry for the Luxembourg Art Prize 2016 is subject to the payment of an entry fee to be paid on-line. The entry fee is €45.
