THE EXHIBITION

A discipline par excellence in the art world, life modeling opens the door to the study of morphology, proportions, shadows and gestures of the human body. It's also a wonderful way of capturing the image of another person's body.

In this group show from October 2 to 9, the Openbach gallery will be showcasing the full range of techniques and sensibilities used in live model drawing.  Nos corps dessinés' is also an exhibition that pays tribute to both artists and models.

The exhibition will be divided into three areas : a zone dedicated to the genesis of this practice, a space with a selection of framed works, and finally a patchwork of drawings.

GENESIS OF THE LIVE MODEL WORKSHOP BY MARIE J. LEPALEC

Since August 2023, live model workshops have been held in Openbach every Monday evening by Marie J. Lepalec. Marie J. Lepalec is a French visual artist and art historian. Drawing mainly from live models, she explores intimate subjects such as consciousness of self and others. She will highlight the paradigms that make up the relationship between artist and model. Is the individual relationship with nudity as fluid as the professional representation of it?

Pour la sélection, nous utilisons Instagram pour voir vos différentes réalisations et l'évolution de votre travail ! Les pièces finales ne doivent pas forcément être présentes sur votre compte. 

You must only submit drawings made during live model sessions. You'll need to bring several drawings with you so that we can make a selection alongside you. One drawing will be selected to be framed by us in 30x40 format (with a passe-partout). Several other drawings will be selected for patchwork. 

If you are selected to take part in the exhibition, you will need to join our association (30 euros per year). Association membership entitles you to a preferential rate for live model workshops at our premises.
