Orange Donald Challenge

PROSPECTUS: THE ORANGE DONALD CHALLENGE ART SHOW AT GALLERY GAIA, 79 HUDSON AVENUE, BROOKLYN, NY 11201, AND ON FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM.

ARTISTS IN DEFENSE OF DEMOCRACY FUNDRAISER FOR THE BIDEN/HARRIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN.

THEME:  To use a baseball metaphor, DONALD TRUMP handed Stormy Daniels a can of corn, and Ms. Daniels hit it out of the ballpark.   As revealed in the transcripts of the Trump Hush Money trial in New York Criminal Court, Trump tweeted that Ms. Daniels was “A human toilet”.  In response Stormy replied, “Making me the best person to flush the ORANGE TURD down”.  In one short comment, Stormy Daniels has revealed the essence of Donald Trump, and given him the moniker that should define him for the rest of his days, “The Orange Turd”.  In the spirit of Trump’s own use of ridicule to demean and dehumanize anyone that doesn’t debase themselves at his feet, Artists in Defense of Democracy in conjunction with Gallery GAIA, are proposing to all artists and other creatives the ORANGE DONALD CHALLENGE.  Submit your interpretations of Trump as a felon convicted on 34 counts, a loser megalomaniac that tried to get a presidential election overturned against the will of the American people, a liar and an election denier, a would-be dictator bent on revenge against his opponents, a bully and a misogynist, a pal to all right-wing dictators around the world, and a would-be destroyer of Democracy in America.  Let’s mock and laugh at The Orange Donald in repayment for Trump’s insults.  Use humor and truth as a way for artists to defeat the Tyranny that is Trumpism.  LET’S LAUGH TRUMP INTO OBLIVION!!

ART SHOW DATES: AUGUST 3RD TO AUGUST 31ST, 2024.

ARTISTS RECEPTION: SATURDAY, AUGUST 3RD, 2024.  6 TO 8PM AT GALLERY GAIA.

REQUIREMENT:  ALL REASONABLE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND SHOWN AT GALLERY GAIA.    No Size limit, however smaller is better so that all submissions can be shown at the gallery.   

MAIL SUBMISSIONS: TO GALLERY GAIA, 79 HUDSON AVENUE, BROOKLYN, NY 11201 by JULY 27, 2024, OR email jpegs to RBRACHMAN52@GMAIL.COM.  Digital submissions will be printed and exhibited at the gallery.  Some sculpture can be accommodated as long as it is SMALL, LIGHT, AND UNBREAKABLE.  NO REAL TURDS PLEASE!!

DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS: Can be shown on INSTAGRAM, THE GAIA GALLERY and/or ARTISTS IN DEFENSE OF DEMOCRACY Facebook pages. Please show pricing and arrange payment to yourselves.

PRICING:  Submissions to Gallery GAIA, please indicate the portion of your sale to donate to the BIDEN/HARRIS PRESIDENTIAL campaign.  Gallery GAIA charges 30% of sales NOT donated to Biden/Harris.

ARTWORK DROPPED OFF: At GALLERY GAIA, JULY 29, 30 & 31 FROM 12 NOON TO 6:00PM. Artists will be notified of art sales.   Artwork not sold can be picked up at GALLERY GAIA after the CLOSING PARTY on August 31ST, 2024, AFTER 6:00PM.  Artwork can also be returned by mail.  Please include proper return postage and packaging.
