Manifesta del Raval

This is an open call for artists living and working in Barcelona to participate into a fringe festival under the name “Manifesta del Raval”. This event will take place in the margins of Manifesta 15 that runs from the 8th of September to the 24th of November 2024. This initiative is looking for inspiring new ideas and perspectives how create a sustainable and inclusive environment in Raval that celebrates its diversity and creativity while preserving its cultural heritage and fostering a vibrant urban landscape that benefits everyone and engage the community.

The urban development of Barcelona, particularly in Raval, is a dynamic process influenced by various factors. By focusing on Balancing Conflicts, Cure and Care, and Imagining Futures, the leading themes of Manifesta 15, this fringe festival invites all artists living and working in Raval, to take up the opportunity to present their own vision upon these subjects. Due to the space limitations (100 sqm) artists are asked not to introduce big sized artworks: max. 100 cm x 100 cm for 2D works, max. 4 sqm x 2m high for 3D artworks. Submissions are free but artworks that are not complying to above mentioned themes will be dismissed. Selected artists may be required to pay a hanging fee of 50 euro to cover for the organization of the event.
