Vogue Germany

Vogue Deutsch is published in Germany by Conde Nast Verlag GmbH twelve times a year. The Editor-in-Chief is Christiane Arp and the Creative Director is Reto Brunnter. The paper quality and printing is typically European with a hard semi-gloss cover. The German Vogue eye is very like a mix between French, Italian, and American Vogue. For me, it is very hard to pinpoint with a definative description. Colour is very important to German Vogue, as evidenced by it's colour-drenched interior and it's subtle use of colour on most covers. All of the inside photo editorials are original, using such varied photographers as Christophe Kutner, Mario Testino, Karl Lagerfeld, Mark Abrahams, Arthur Elgort, Rankin, and Ruven Afanador. As of yet, they have not been bitten by the celebrity bug (but getting close), which as far as I'm concerned, is a sign of loss of creativity. Models are mostly multi-cultural. Vogue Deutsch began publishing with the August 1979 issue.

Marie Claire is a monthly women's magazine conceived in France but also distributed in other countries with editions specific to them and in their languages. While each country shares its own special voice with its audience, the United States edition focuses on women around the world and several worldwide issues. The magazine also provides the reader with health, beauty, and fashion information in each issue. Readers can subscribe to it through the mail and online. The reality series, Running In Heels, follows three interns working in the NYC office of the magazine.

The theme for Marie Claire is “More than a Pretty Face”. The magazine gives readers information about different women around the world and their needs, struggles, and stories of life.

The goal of the magazine is to provide readers with a substantial amount of information about new looks in the fashion industry as well as current issues that women of the world are facing. Moreover, it also adds relationship information, along with a section dedicated to answering specific questions from readers. It provides information pertaining to different items of clothing and accessories, as well as which would be a better deal. Each month recognizes a particular female celebrity by placing her on the cover of the magazine and featuring her in a main article, along with providing monthly horoscope.

Australian Vogue is published in Australia by FPC Magazines twelve times a year under license from Conde Nast. Kirstie Clements is the current Editor in Chief and Paul Meany is the Creative Director. Many of their covers are original, although often there are reprints from other Conde Nast magazines. Printing and binding are average, but they use glossy paper and a thick cover. Fashion editorials are simultaneously airy and dismal-I don't know how that's possible, but they accomplish it quite well. Perhaps it can be attributed to the use of a lot of dark studio photography and the occasional happy outdoor work. Vogue Australia began publishing in 1957 with only three issues a year. Throughout the 1960's and 1970's, they gradually raised publication to six, eight, ten, then eleven issues. In 1980, they began monthly printing and have been maintained at that rate for almost thirty years.
