Tint magazine is a quarterly global zine and independent magazine published in Detroit, Michigan. Though its motto "Celebrating Women of Every Color" targets all women, the magazine typically covers issues from the voices of women of color, and often from a politically left-wing perspective.

Tint began as a multicultural women's webzine, first published in 2004 by then college freshman Margarita L. Barry on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Created as a response to the lack of diverse faces and voices in mainstream women's publications, the first issue of Tint was launched in PDF format online that May. Barry never intended for the magazine to be a campus publication, though a misquote in the University's weekly newspaper, The BG News hinted otherwise.

Tint has been loosely linked to several subcultures and movements, including Transculturation, DIY Culture, Arts and Crafts Movement, Anarcho-punk, Afro-punk, Zine, Feminism, Black Feminism, Grassroots, and Activism.

To date, Tint has featured cover stories on a unique blend of women including actress/vocalist Alisa Reyes, actress/vocalist Persia White, and recording artist Goapele, all celebrities of multiethnic heritages with notable grassroots arts or activism involvement. In addition to celebrity interviews, Tint also regularly features stories on everyday women who are making their own individual impacts on the world. The publication maintains a small but relevant cross-cultural readership and following.

Tint is rumored to be taking a more local slant in the year 2007, incorporating both digital and print editions.

Founded as a cultural exchange initiative between the Japanese and American Street art scenes in 1996, Tokion kick-started a dialogue about contemporary art and culture that still resonates today. Their reputation had such an early impact that they quickly had cover stars such as Morrissey, Missy Elliott, Mark Gonzales and Iggy Pop, and included rare interviews with Vivienne Westwood, Sofia Coppola, Matthew Barney, Debbie Harry, Ralph Nader, Brian Wilson, William Gibson, James Brown and Dolly Parton.

Since the very first issue, Tokion saw a steady growth in sales and sell-through rates. Circulation and distribution awareness grew quickly, both in the U.S. and Europe. Tokion is found not only at newsstands, but also in exclusive stores and boutique hotels around the world.

Tokion’s editorial scope is constantly evolving. Their one-off creative projects, such as the “King of Doc” documentary film contest, and “Project”, their per-issue artist-and-reader collaborative series, connect them even further with their smart, sophisticated readers. The Face was a magazine started in May 1980 by Nick Logan out of his publishing house Wagadon. Logan had previously created titles such as Smash Hits, and had been an editor at the New Musical Express in the 1970s during one of its most successful periods.

The magazine, often referred to as the "80s fashion bible", was influential in championing a number of fashion music and style trends, whilst keeping a finger on the pulse of youth culture for over two decades; its best selling period was in the mid-1990s when editor Richard Benson brought in a younger team that included art director Lee Swillingham. While Benson ensured the magazine reflected the UK’s revitalized art and music scene, Swillingham changed the visual direction of the magazine to showcase new photography. It was during this time that the work of fashion photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde, Steven Klein, David LaChapelle, Norbert Schoerner, Glen Luchford, Craig McDean and Elaine Constantine was first published.

In the early 1990s, the magazine contained an article suggesting that Australian actor and pop star Jason Donovan was gay. Donovan sued the magazine for libel in 1992 and won the case (but torpedoed his own career in the process). Subsequently, the magazine requested donations from readers to pay the substantial libel damages and court costs which came to £300,000. The magazine set up the "Lemon Aid" fund, so called because their article on Donovan had also stated he highlighted his hair with lemon juice to make it blonder. However, Donovan reached a settlement with the magazine to allow it to stay in business.

In 1999, Wagadon was sold to the publishers EMAP.

Notable names associated with the magazine were designer & typographer Neville Brody (Art Director, 1981-86), creative director Lee Swillingham (Art Director 1993-1999), Julie Burchill, Tony Parsons, photographers Juergen Teller, David Sims and writers including Jon Savage and Fiona Russell Powell.

By its May 2004 closure, the format had become stale, there were too many competitors, sales had declined and advertising revenues had consequently reduced. The publishers EMAP closed the title, in order to concentrate resources on its more successful magazines, however its fashion spin-off Pop still survives as a stand alone magazine brand.

V Magazine was launched in September 1999 as the younger sibling publication to the limited-edition quarterly Visionaire. If Visionaire is a couture book, V is ready-to-wear. V is large-format and visually-driven, international in scope and collaborative in spirit.

It is edited by Stephen Gan with a focus on art, film, music, and fashion. V is noted for its extreme and artful fashion spreads by the world's greatest photographers, as well as its reportage of cultural figures and global youth culture. Contributors include Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Hedi Slimane, Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, and Karl Lagerfeld. Interview subjects have included Joan Didion, Salman Rushdie, Robert Altman, Brooke Shields, and Norman Mailer.

V recently launched an offshoot called VMAN.

In 2005, 7L and Steidl published V Best: Five Years of V Magazine, chronicling the seminal first five years of the publication.
