Elizabeth R. Raphael Founder’s Prize and Exhibition

In celebration of its 25th anniversary in 1997, Contemporary Craft established a $5,000 prize for excellence in the field of contemporary craft.

This triennial award, which is given in conjunction with a catalogue, video profile and juried exhibition, is funded by the daughters of Elizabeth R. Raphael, the founder of Contemporary Craft and a nationally known figure in the contemporary art scene for many decades. Prizes are selected by medium, with the designated medium changing with each award.

Fiberart International 2025

OVERVIEW

Fiberart International 2025 (Fi2025) seeks to exhibit the best of contemporary art and invites submissions that reflect a wide range of works related to the fiber medium. The exhibition is recognized around the world as a benchmark that documents trends and innovations in the field. The goal of the exhibition is to include innovative work rooted in traditional fiber materials, structure, processes and history, as well as art that explores unexpected relationships between fiber and other creative disciplines.

Tough Art Residency Program 2024

The Tough Art Residency Program invites artists to be in residence June through mid-September. During this time, they will work in the museum to develop and create new works to be exhibited in Fall/Winter of that year. The goal of the residency is to produce artwork that is tough enough to withstand public interaction, especially that of children. 

Benefits include: 
-$5,000 honorarium
-$3,500 materials budget

NOËL NOIR

Vestige Concept Gallery Presents their winter contemporary exhibition NOËL NOIR.  This show aims to showcase works of art that most prominently features the color black.  Artwork does not have to be representative of any holiday or religion, although it may feature winter imagery, “noir” imagery (ala noir film/photography/mystery) and/or contain minimalist aspects. Work that is black and white or includes complimentary colors is also acceptable and these works should not be discouraged from applying.  This show also aims to highlight contemporary elegance.  All artists are asked to consider their body of work and how black and white and/or noir themes differentiate their practice. Works can be from any medium, and should have sales appeal for the holiday season. 

NOËL NOIR

Vestige Concept Gallery Presents their winter contemporary exhibition NOËL NOIR.  This show aims to showcase works of art only in black and white from the latest emerging artists.  Works can be from any medium, and should have sales appeal for the holiday season.  The artwork does not have to be representative of any holiday or religion, although it may feature winter imagery, "noir" imagery (ala noir film/photography/mystery/deep contrasts) and/or contain minimalist aspects. If the work has a very small touch of a third or alternate color, this is also acceptable and these works should not be discouraged from applying.
